Women's Track and Field Returns To Competition At Home Meet

The Event... The Dordt University women's track and field team returns to competition at their home meet this weekend, the Dordt Indoor Open.

Saturday's meet (Jan.15) is set to start at 10:30am (note time change) with the field events; running events will begin at 11:30am.

Teams Competing...Dordt is one of four complete teams scheduled to compete. Dakota Wesleyan, Morningside and Northwestern round out the field. 

Last Time Competing...A limited number of Defender athletes competed at the Concordia Early Bird Invite held December 11 in Seward, Neb. This was the second meet of the indoor season.

Two Defenders, Anmarie Stuit and Mika Kooistra, met the provisional standard with their performance in the 800m. Stuit won the race with a time of 2:18 while Kooistra followed in third place (2:19.8). Emily Heynen crossed the finish line in fourth place (2:24).

Bethany Ten Haken won the mile with a time of 5:22.9.
