Jungling Named GPAC Player of the Week

(Tuesday, November 15; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Great Plains Athletic Conference and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the football players-of-the-week for games played Saturday, November 13. Dordt’s Levi Jungling (Senior; Pella, Iowa) has been named the offensive-player-of-the-week.

Jungling accounted for three touchdowns in Dordt’s 77-6 win over Jamestown with one rushing touchdown, one passing and one receiving.  Jungling caught five passes for 102 yards and brought his season total to 59 catches for 974 yards and nine touchdowns.  He averaged 16.5 yards per catch this season.

“For five years, Defender Nation has watched Levi Jungling do things on the field that are as inspiring as they are entertaining.  On Saturday, his career came to a close and it’s fitting that he earns the Conference player of the week award in his last game,” said Dordt head football coach Joel Penner.

The Defenders concluded their 2021 season last Saturday with a 7-3 mark.  This is the fourth straight season the Defenders have posted seven or more wins. Jungling leaves the Dordt program with a handful of records including receiving yards (4,637), touchdown receptions (42) and total receptions (271).
