Defenders to Play Two in Kansas


The Dordt Defenders look to continue their strong start to the season as they play the Kansas Jayhawks on the road. Friday's matchup will start at 7:20 PM with Saturday's opening faceoff scheduled for 2:00 PM. Both games will be played in Lawrence, Kansas.

The Jayhawks have a 1-7 record this season. Kansas is led in scoring by Steven Siavelis, who has nine goals on the season. Caleb Dusseau is tied for second in points on the team with six and is leading the team with five assists.

The Jayhawks return to the ice on Friday for their first game in three weeks. Kansas was swept by Missouri State last time out, losing 5-1 and 8-3 in the two-game series.

Dordt looks to build upon its three-game winning streak after defeating Nebraska-Omaha 8-2 on Friday, October 15. Dawson Kaemingh scored two goals in the win, and he was one of seven different goal scorers for Dordt.


Dordt and Kansas last played each other on March 6, 2020 in Brookfield, Wisconsin. The Jayhawks won 13-1, although the Defenders won the two previous matchups in the 2019-20 season.
