SCOUTING JAMESTOWN

The only unbeaten team (overall) and one of two undefeated teams left in conference play, Jamestown comes into the mid-week match with an unblemished 13-0 record. They are 8-0 in the GPAC, 1/2 game in back of Briar Cliff (9-0) with a showdown looming against the Chargers in the final game of the regular season.

Most recently, the Jimmies have wins against Concordia (1-0) and Mount Marty (4-0). Ranked 25th in the latest NAIA Coaches' poll, they are the highest rated GPAC team and one of two (Briar Cliff) recognized in the national ranking.

Nick Becker is in his 10th season as the head of the Jamestown women's soccer program. He returns eight starters from a 2020 team that tied for fifth in the GPAC regular season with a 7-5 record and finished 13-8 overall. They lost to Concordia in the GPAC Tournament final, one win away from qualifying for the NAIA tournament.

Jamestown is scoring 3.3 goals per match, led by Cassandra Diaz with 13 goals and three assists. Diaz is joined by Kamryn Fiscus, a two-time all-conference selection, who has scored eight goals to go with a team-leading seven assists. 16 different players have scored at least one goal for the Jimmies.

Alex Nowka, an all-conference pick in 2020, returns as the starting goalkeeper. Nowka leads the GPAC with a .7 goals against average and has seven shutouts this season.

DORDT

The Defenders have been playing some of their best soccer of late, winning four of their last five matches. They have scored 16 goals during that span (3.2 / match) and have climbed into a tie for eighth place in the GPAC standings. Dordt is 4-4-1 in the conference, 9-5-1 overall, with three matches left in the regular season.

Avril Baccam leads the GPAC in scoring with 17 goals, tied for the fourth most all-time in a single season at Dordt. The freshman also has five assists to her credit for a total of 39 points. Jori Bronner has chipped in seven goals to go with three assists (17pts) while Sarah Miller has taken over the team lead in assists with six.

Jenna Wright has made 64 saves and is giving up 1.2 goals per match en route to a 9-4-1 record as the Defenders goalkeeper.

THE SERIES

Wednesday's match will be the 15th in the rivalry between the two teams. Dordt holds a slight 8-6 lead but has just two wins on the road (2-4). The Defenders have lost four straight, including a 3-0 setback in 2020. Dordt's last win over the Jimmies came during the 2016 season (3-2).
