Women's Volleyball Still Fifth In Poll

(Thursday, September 16; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Defender volleyball team is rated no. 5 in the most recent NAIA Coaches’ Top-25 Women’s Volleyball poll released on Wednesday, September 15 by the NAIA.  

Dordt stands 10-2 after a 3-1 loss to no. 2 ranked Jamestown on Wednesday night, September 15 in North Dakota. The Defenders totaled 510 points in the polling of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Association of Independent Institutions and Unaffiliated Groups.  Dordt was no. 5 in the previous poll released September 1.  

The Defenders are 2-1 in league play and will be idle until they host Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday, September 22.  Wesleyan is currently in the receiving votes category of the poll and is one of seven GPAC teams either in the top-25 or receiving votes.  Dordt’s other loss is to current no. 3 Viterbo.
