Women's Cross Country At GPAC Preview

The Event...The No.6 Dordt University women's cross country team is set to continue its 2021 season this weekend at a GPAC Preview meet held at Landsmeer Golf Club in Orange City, Iowa. Friday's 5K race is set to start at 5pm and Northwestern will serve as the host institution.

Teams Competing...At this time, there are four teams scheduled to run on Friday and all from the Great Plains Athletic Conference; Briar Cliff, Dordt, Mount Marty and the host team, Northwestern.

A Look Ahead...Friday's race takes place on the same course and venue as the GPAC Championship that will be held on the first Saturday in November.

Last Time Out...Dordt finished ninth out of 27 teams last week at the Augustana Twilight, a meet held under the lights at Yankton Trails Park in Sioux Falls, S.D. They were second among NAIA teams, trailing Concordia by eight points (256 - 264).

Returning All-American Jessica Kampman was the first Dordt and NAIA runner to cross the finish line, completing the 5K course in 18:42. Taylor Anema, the 2020 GPAC individual champion, was the next Defender to cross the finish line, placing 73rd, followed by Lucy Borkowski (85th), Eden Winslow (94th), Brenna Tolkamp (96th) and Margaret Myskowski (98th).
