Feenstra Claims Academic All-American Honors

(Tuesday, May 25; Sioux Center, Iowa) Dordt University’s Erika Feenstra has been named a 2020-21 Academic All-American by the Colle Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Feenstra was selected to the first-team for the second year in a row and the third time overall as she garnered second-team honors in 2018-19.  Feenstra, a Sioux Center, Iowa native, posted a 3.99 grade point average during her college career and graduated with a degree in Exercise Science.

“Erika has pursued excellence through the course of her career at Dordt.  She helped the basketball program to unprecedented success on the court and she’s a big reason our team has excelled in the classroom as well.  I look forward to Erika transitioning to the next chapter in her life and the impact she will have post-graduation,” said Dordt basketball coach Bill Harmsen.

Feenstra averaged 12.5 points per game this season while taking down 4.9 rebounds per game as she helped the Defenders to a 15-11 record this season. She leaves the Dordt with the most points in program history with 1,867; is 10th in rebounds with 702; is the career leader in field goals made with 653; is fourth in career field goal percentage with 54.4; is the career leader in free throws made with 496 and is sixth all-time in free throw percentage with 79.4.
