Van Eps Earns GPAC Weekly Honor

(Thursday, April 29; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Great Plains Athletic Conference and Hauff Mid-America Sports have announced the GPAC Men’s Outdoor-Track-Athlete-of-the-Week for events held April 19-25 and Dordt’s Matthew Van Eps (Senior; Prinsburg, Minnesota) has earned the honor for the third time this season.

Van Eps ran the fastest time of all divisions at the Drake Relays in the 800 meters and he ran a 48.01 split in the 400 meters for the 4x400 team that claimed fifth place.  Earlier in the weekend Van Eps anchored the 4x800 team to a win with the fastest time so far this season in the GPAC or the NAIA.

The Defender track and field teams will be competing at the GPAC Championships on Friday and Saturday, April 30 and May 1 in Seward, Nebraska.
