Defender Soccer Adds Byl

(Tuesday, April 20; Sioux Center, Iowa) Josie Byl, a senior at Unity Christian High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender soccer program.
“We are excited to welcome Josie to the soccer program. Josie has phenomenal work ethic and tenacious on defense. She works hard on the field and we look to having her competitive nature in our program come August,” said Dordt soccer coach Alex Durbin.
Byl earned all-conference honorable mention honors as a sophomore and has played midfielder at Unity.
“I chose Dordt because of its great Christian atmosphere and its strong community,” said Byl.
Josie is the daughter of Henry and Karla Byl of Sioux Center, Iowa. She’s undecided on her field of study.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
