(Tuesday, April 20; Sioux Center, Iowa) Lauren Johnson, a senior at Mahtomedi High School (Minnesota), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender cross country and track programs.

“Lauren is a great addition to our team.  She is a great fit for Dordt University and will have an impact on our campus and on the women’s team. I look forward to working with her over the course of her collegiate career,” said Dordt cross country coach Nate Wolf.a

Johnson has personal bests of 6:32 in the 1600 and 14:27 in the 3200.  She has run 22:37 on a 5,000 meter cross country course and was on a conference championship team in 2019 and served as team captain in 2020.

“I love the Christian community at Dordt and I also like Dordt has Actuarial Science because it is a major many colleges do not offer,” said Johnson.

Lauren is the daughter of Tim and Kari Johnson of Mahtomedi, Minnesota. She plans to study Actuarial Science and Mathematics.
