(Wednesday, April 7; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Defender volleyball team is rated no. 16 in the most recent NAIA Top-25 Women’s Volleyball Coaches’ Poll released on Wednesday, April 7.
The Defenders are 14-6 this season and 2-1 since resuming play in the second semester.
“This poll is one more reminder for us of how important it is to compete and win as other coaches vote for or against us in the national poll. We will wait for the announcement on April 12 about the NAIA National Tournament qualifier teams as we believe we will receive an at-large bid. Until that time, we continue to work hard on the court preparing for an exciting post-season national tournament,” said Dordt coach Chad Hanson.
The Defenders await the NAIA National Championship field announcement on April 12. 48 teams will qualify for the field and all teams will play an opening round match on Saturday, April 17 with the 24 winners advancing to the NAIA Final Site in Sioux City, Iowa beginning on April 27 with pool play.
