(Wednesday, March 31; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Defender women’s cross country is fifth in the latest edition of the Women’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Poll released on Tuesday, March 30.

The Defenders took 491 points in the balloting done by coaches representing each of the conferences in the NAIA.  St. Francis (Illinois) is in the top spot with 547 points and Dordt is 28 points behind Milligan (Tennessee) in fourth.

Other GPAC members in the women’s poll include Morningside (21) and Northwestern (24).

“We are excited to have the women’s and men’s teams both represented in the top 10 of the rankings heading into the final week of the season.  We look forward to the opportunity to finish our season at the national meet next Friday and are thankful for the opportunity to compete in a championship race this year,” said Dordt cross country coach Nate Wolf.

This is the final in-season poll before the 2020 NAIA Cross Country National Championship will be run on April 9, 2021 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
