Reyes Commits To Defender Soccer

(Tuesday, March 23; Sioux Center, Iowa) Ryan Reyes, a senior at Christian Liberty Academy (Illinois), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender soccer program.

“We are excited to add Ryan to our 2021 class. We enjoyed having him and his family on campus. We look forward to watching Ryan grow throughout his time at Dordt,” said Dordt soccer coach Ryan Gresse.

Reyes has played midfield and back during his high school career and is currently eight assists shy of his schools career assists mark. He’s been a four-time all-state selection and was a Midwest Regional Select Team pick and a Northeastern Athletic All-Conference selection.  Reyes was a part of a President’s Cup championship team and also played for a conference champion team at Christian Liberty.

“The environment and people at Dordt are different from anywhere else,” said Reyes.

Ryan is the son of Nicanor Reyes and Rocio Liliana Vivanco of Arlington Heights, Illinois. He plans to study Electrical Engineering and Health and Human Performance at Dordt.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
