Doumas To Join Defender Golf

(Wednesday, March 10; Sioux Center, Iowa) Anneke Douma and Elizabeth Douma, seniors at Texico High School (New Mexico), have announced their intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender golf program.

“We are excited to have Anneke and Libby joining our program,” said Dordt golf coach Jon Crane. “As sisters they have grown up pushing each other and supporting each other on and off the golf course and we are excited to see them bring that to the rest of our team.”

Both are low 90s golfers and plan to study nursing at Dordt.

“I chose to commit to Dordt University because I would love to continue to grow my faith at a Christian school. As I continue to learn and grow in my faith, God will soon uncover who I am to become, and I believe that Dordt could provide me with that! And they also know how to say my name correctly!” said Anneke.

Anneke and Elizabeth are the daughters of Angela and Chuck Douma Jr. of Clovis, New Mexico.

“I chose to commit to Dordt because of the Christian community and how at home I felt when I went to visit! I am super honored to have the opportunity to play at this level and I cannot be more proud to be associated with Dordt University!” said Elizabeth.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
