Softball Continues Florida Games


Dordt resumes play Wednesday afternoon in Florida and will play six games over the next three days to conclude the trip.  Times listed below are Central Standard.


There are no fan restrictions for these games.

Florida National is 7-10 and are 3-3 in their last six games. It has a team batting average of .258 with Megan Johnson batting .421 this season and Gabryella Hay and Zaira Nunez are each batting .327 and .314 respectively and Hay leads the team with six stolen bases. Hay and Johnson each have 11 runs batted in and Johnson has two homeruns. Hay also leads the team in innings pitched with 37 and she is 3-2.

Keiser is 5-5 this season and boast a .307 batting average and have outscored teams 49-23. Ally Thompson has a team best .478 batting average with 11 hits while Janelle Dominguez has a .417 batting average with 15 hits and a team high six stolen bases with 16 runs batted in and four homeruns. Giovanna Watts is 3-3 with a 1.72 earned run average and 24 strikeouts with 44 innings pitched. Kelsie Merriman is 2-2 with a 2.24 earned run average and has seven strikeouts in 25 innings pitched.

Bellevue is 9-8 this season with a team .275 batting average and has outscored teams 89-58. Katlyn Kinman has 22 hits with six doubles and five homeruns and a .386 batting average. Lauren Russell is batting .275 but has a team high seven homeruns with 23 runs batted in. Lauren Jurek is 5-4 on the mound with a 1.85 earned run average and has pitched 53 innings with 50 strikeouts.

St. Thomas is 4-3 this year and has outscored teams 29-21 this year. Eliza Artiles is batting .438 with seen hits and Daniel Bautista is batting .368 with seven hits. Erica Winter and Abbigail Smith have shouldered the pitching responsibiltiies and are 1-2 and 2-1 respectively with Winter striking out 14 in 20 innings of work.

Ave Maria is 10-4 and have a team .364 batting average with 112 runs scored. Miriam Padgett has 15 hits and a .484 batting average with 15 hits and Kalie Romig has 18 hits with Paxton Hoop at 16 hits with 15 runs batted in and 10 runs scored. Angela Cataldo is batting .372 with 16 hits and Marisa Michi is batting .370 with three homeruns and a team high 20 runs batted in. Sarah Shepard is 4-2 on the mound with 39 innings of work and a 2.15 earned run average with 25 strikeouts.

Calumet is 0-10 and its stats are not up to date.


Dordt is 9-7 after starting the week with a 2-4 record on the road swing. The Defenders are batting .295 as a team and opponents are batting .265 against the Defenders. Dordt has outscored teams 89-61.

Jessica Oules has a team high 17 hits with two doubles and four runs batted in and 11 runs scored with six stolen bases. Hannah Sikkema is batting .353 with nine runs batted in and 12 hits and Kenzie Cunard has 18 hits with 11 runs batted in and a .321 batting average and she has a team high seven stolen bases. Chandler Schemper is batting .300 with five stolen bases and 12 hits and 11 runs scored with seven runs batted in.

Abby Kraemer is 4-2 on the mound with a 2.43 earned run average and she has pitched 46 innings with 64 strikeouts and 11 bases on balls. Rachel Evavold is 3-1 with a 2.63 earned run average and she has pitched 26 innings and has 24 strikeouts.


The Defenders resume play on March 18 when they are scheduled to host Dickinson State and will host Dakota Wesleyan in the start of GPAC play on Saturday, March 20 at 1:00.
