Bervig To Defender Track and Cross Country

(Wednesday, March 3; Sioux Center, Iowa) Nathaniel Bervig, a senior at Park Rapids Area High School (Minnesota), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender cross country and track and field programs.
“I am excited to welcome Nathaniel to our distance crew. He is a fantastic fit for Dordt University and is the type of student athlete that we look to add to our program. He has experienced success in the classroom, in his running, and is a young man with solid faith. I look forward to his impact in our program,” said Dordt cross country coach Nate Wolf.
Bervig has personal bests of 17:16 in the 5,000 meters, 10:22 in the 3,200 and 4:50 in the 1,600 meters. He earned all-conference honors in track and field and in cross country in 2019.
“I chose Dordt University because it provides and exceptional experience to pursue my career of choice while being able to compete in the sport I love,” said Bervig.
Nathaniel is the son of Eric and Jennifer Bervig of Park Rapids, Minnesota. He plans to study Manufacturing Technology at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
