James Signs On With Women's Soccer

(Tuesday, February 16; Sioux Center, Iowa) Carly James, a senior at Covenant Christian High School (Indiana), has announced her intention to attend Dordt University and join the Defender soccer program.

“We are very excited to add Carly to our program. She is a great student and athlete, and I look forward to seeing how she will have an impact here at Dordt,” said Dordt women’s soccer coach Alex Durbin.

James has played striker and center midfielder during her career and has 47 career goals. She’s earned all-conference first-team and honorable mention honors during her career.

“I chose to commit to Dordt University because of the community. Everyone on campus is so kind and radiate the love of Christ. I can tell Dordt will help me grow as a student, athlete and person in Christ,” said James.

Carly is the daughter of Gayle and Cary James of De Motte, Indiana. She plans to study Nursing at Dordt.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA). 

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
