Hockey Gets Commitment From Espenson

(Tuesday, January 5; Sioux Center, Iowa) Alex Espenson, a senior at Windom High School (Minnesota), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender hockey program.

“We are excited to bring Alex in to the Defender Hockey family. He has great potential and will be very successful at Dordt,” said Dordt hockey coach Tyler Morgan.

Espenson has accounted for 57 points over the last three season and had 26 during his junior season.

“I chose Dordt to build good relationships, have fun, learn a lot in school and win some hockey games,” said Espenson.

Alex is the son of Jason and Cindy Espenson of Windom, Minnesota.  He plans to study Ag-Business at Dordt.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegaite Hockey Association (MACHA). 

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
