(Tuesday, November 24; Sioux Center, Iowa) Jenna Wright, a senior at Heritage Christian Academy (Kansas), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender soccer program.
“We are super excited to have Jenna at Dordt next year. Her personality and desire to be a great teammate will mesh well with our group. She is an extremely talented goalkeeper and will bring some phenomenal talent to the team. We look forward to her joining us in August of next year,” said Dordt coach Alex Durbin.
Wright posted six shut outs in 2019 with a 0.85 save percentage while helping Heritage Christian to a conference title. She was a first-team all-conference and all-state honorable mention pick in 2019 and she was a part of a regional championship team in 2019.
“I chose Dordt because of the welcoming and Christ-centered environment. From day one I felt overwhelmingly supported and welcomed by everyone there on both the academic and athletic sides. I look forward to growing as a student, an athlete and most importantly as a Christian in my time at Dordt,” said Wright.
Jenna is the daughter of Jason and Kendra Wright of Olathe, Kansas. She plans to study Pre-physical Therapy at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
