Meet Time…

Dordt will compete in the Mount Marty Invite on Saturday, October 27 in Yankton, South Dakota.  The women’s race will start at 12:00 pm and the men’s race is scheduled to get underway at 12:45.

Fans are allowed at outdoor Mount Marty events.  The guidelines for the university can be found here.

Participants…

Teams from Briar Cliff, Concordia, Dakota State, Dakota Wesleyan, Dickinson State, Doane, Hastings, Jamestown, Midland, Morningside, Mount Marty, Northwestern, Peru State, Presentation, the College of Saint Mary, Valley City State, Waldorf and Dordt will compete at what is the final race before conference championships for many teams.

The meet will be run at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton.

This Event…

Dordt didn’t run in this event last season but did in 2018 and took third place in the women’s race behind Augustana and the University of Sioux Falls. Annechiena Knevelbaard won the race in 18:28 and Olivia Couch and Sarah Wensink ran 11th and 13th in 19:13 and 19:19 for Dordt’s next finishers.

The Defender men also finished third behind the University of Sioux Falls and Augustana. Jacob Vander Plaats was Dordt’s top runner in 13th in 26:@1 and Davis Tebben ran 15th in 26:23.

Last Time…

The Dordt women’s team scored 35 points in the Briar Cliff Invite three weeks ago.  Taylor Anema finished 6th in 18:01 while Jordan De Groot ran 9th in 18:09 and Jessica Kampman ran an 18:14 for 12th place.

The Dordt men ran second at the Briar Cliff Invite on October 3 behind Iowa Central. Eric Steiger and Davis Tebben ran 10th and 11th in 24:55 and 24:57 and Nic Veldhorst was 21st in 25:33.

Poll…

Dordt’s women are sixth in the NAIA Coaches’ Poll while the men were 12th.

The women’s poll also includes Morningside at no. 18 and Concordia and Hastings each are receiving votes.

The men’s poll also includes Doane in the receiving votes portion of the poll.

Dordt will compete in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, November 7 in Yankton at this same course.
