Men's Basketlball Third In GPAC Voting

(Wednesday, October 14; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Defender men’s basketball team was picked third in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Preseason Poll conducted in voting done by the 11 conference coaches.

The Defenders totaled 82 points and one first-place vote while defending conference champion Morningside had 96 points and seven first-place votes.

The Defenders had a 22-9 record last season and finished third in the GPAC regular season standings with a 13-7 record in the league.  Dordt returns its top three scorers from a team that averaged 86 points per game and allowed 76.

Dordt is scheduled to open the 2020-21 season on the road against Dakota State on October 30.  The Defenders currently have 24 games on the schedule and will open  this year and will open league play on November 14 against Midland before hosting Dakota Wesleyan on November 18 in the first home game of the season.
