(Thursday, September 24; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week for competitions from September 14-20. Taylor Anema (Freshman; Ripon, California), is the women’s honoree this week.
Anema ran an 18:30 at the Morningside Invite on Saturday, September 19 at Adam’s Nature Preserve in McCook Lake, South Dakota. Anema was the top-finishing NAIA runner, finishing fifth overall in a field that featured 103 runners.
“Taylor once again had a solid race leading the women’s team. She was patient through the first kilometer and showed her fitness, moving very well from 2,000 meter mark through the finish,” said Dordt cross country coach Nate Wolf.
This is the second time this season Anema has claimed the runner-of-the-week honors. Dordt will be back in action on Saturday, October 3 at the Briar Cliff Invite.
