(Tuesday, September 15; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports have announced the volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played September 7-13. Dordt’s Brenna Krommendyk (Sophomore; Belle Plaine, Minnesota) claims the honor for the first week of the season.
Krommendyk was named the Attacker-of-the-Week for her play in a pair of wins over Dakota Wesleyan and Morningside in GPAC play. Krommendyk had 18 kills in a pair of sweep wins and hit for a .607 kill efficiency. Krommendyk also had an impact with her defense at the net with 11 blocks.
“Brenna had an incredible week for us with offensive contributions that put her kill total near the top for our team, highest attack efficiency, and she also led us in blocks. She plays a strong game and is continually striving to develop in all areas of the court. She is an incredible team servant and selfless in her pursuits which makes this recognition all the more special,” said Dordt coach Chad Hanson.
Dordt is currently 3-0 overall and 2-0 in GPAC play. Dordt will face Briar Cliff on Saturday, September 12 in a contest rescheduled from later in the season.
