UPDATE: The Pops Concert, which is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, has been moved indoors to the De Wit Gymnasium. There will be limited seating for approximately 200 guests.
Join the Dordt University mass band and Chamber Orchestra conducted by Dordt Director of Instrumental Ensembles Dr. Onsby C. Rose for the annual Pops Concert on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 7 p.m. This year’s concert will take place in Dordt’s Open Space Park Football Stadium. The concert is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature the music of master cinematic composer John Williams. From the mass band opening the concert with Williams’s acclaimed setting of the “Star Spangled Banner,” to the Chamber Orchestra featuring Brianna Miedema, student violin soloist, or the emotionally-filled notes of the “Theme to Schindler's List,” there will be something to be enjoyed by all.
Attendees are asked to bring a lawn chair, a blanket, and maybe even a snack. Guests are also asked to exercise social distancing and wear a mask all while enjoying the fall weather, as the Dordt instrumental ensembles treat us to a wonderful evening of music.
Dordt University continues to monitor how COVID-19 affects our campus and community. Please visit dordt.edu/updates on the day of the event to see if there are any restrictions on in-person attendance
