(Wedesday, June 16; Sioux Center, Iowa) Johnathon Carlo, a senior at Pella Community High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender soccer program.
"Johnathon has the potential to develop into a competitive player at the college level. We are eager to see his growth and impact on campus in his next four years at Dordt. We have enjoyed getting to know him through the recruitment process. We are excited to add Johnathon to our 2020 class," said Dordt coach Ryan Gresse.
Carlo played forward and midfield for the Dutch and was a part of a 2018 Class 2A State Champion. He scored three goals during that season.
"I chose to commit to Dordt University because I will be able to participate in music and sports while pursuing a degree in something I'm passionate about," said Carlo.
Johnathon is the son of Tim and Christie Carlo of Pella, Iowa. He plans to study Digital Media Production at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian university rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
