Klecker To Join Defenders

(Friday, June 5; Sioux Center, Iowa) McKenna Klecker, a student at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (Arizona), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.

"We are excited to welcome McKenna to Dordt!  McKenna has demonstrated great skill on both ends of the floor.  She is a tough competitor that will elevate our team on the court.  She is also a strong student that will thrive on and contribute Dordt's campus community. McKenna will contribute to the Defender Way and is a great addition to our program and campus community," said Dordt basketball coach Bill Harmsen.

Klecker is a 5-10 guard/forward who averaged 4.1 points per game for Embry Riddle with 1.5 rebounds and converted 52 percent of her field goal attempts.  She graduated from Seton Catholic (Arizona)  and earned honorable mention honors in 2018-19 and was a two-time All-Academic honoree.  Klecker served as her team's captain in both 2017 and 2018 and is in the top-10 all-time in field goal percentage and free throw percentage. Seton won state titles in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and was state runner-up in 2019.

"I chose to commit to Dordt because of the close knit culture and opportunities it offered both academically and athletically," said Klecker.

McKenna is the daughter Kory and Lori Klecker of  Sun Lakes, Arizona.  She plans to study Business Administration at Dordt.
