(Friday, February 21; Sioux Center, Iowa) Cami Regnerus, a senior at Vermillion High School (South Dakota), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender soccer program.
"Cami will be a great addition to this program through her work ethic and leadership abilities. We are excited to add another Regnerus to the roster. It will be a cool opportunity to have two sisters (Maddie and Cami) playing together at the college level," said Dordt soccer coach Alex Durbin.
Regnerus has played midfield for Vermillion High School and the Yankton Club. She earned five varsity letters for Vermillion High School and earned all-state honorable mention honors along with academic all-state honors and she served as her team's captain in 2018 and 2019. "I chose Dordt University because it feels like home, everyone is nice and caring. I also chose Dordt because I know this is a great place for me to grow in my faith," said Regnerus.
Cami is the daughter of Carissa and Jay Regnerus of Vermillion, South Dakota. She plans to study Elementary Education at Dordt.
