Dordt senior to present harp recital February 15

The Dordt University Music Department is hosting the harp recital of senior Anna Blauw of Maple Grove, Minnesota on Saturday, February 15, at 3:30 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. The recital is free and a public reception will follow.

The performance will feature a variety of styles of music, from Baroque to new compositions. Highlights include a world premiere of a piece by Dordt University composition instructor Dr. Daniel Baldwin, and a collaboration with Dordt University string players Brianna Miedema (violin), Janna Vanden Brink (violin), Adri Tilstra (viola), and Daniel Munson (cello). Blauw will also be joined by Dordt University music faculty member Dr. Carrie Groenewold on organ.

Blauw is majoring in K-12 Choral Music Education. She was featured as a soloist with the Dordt University Chamber Orchestra during their 2020 Winter Tour and accompanied the Dordt University Concert Choir on Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols during their Christmas concert. Anna Vorhes has been her harp instructor at Dordt since 2016.
