Rowe To Run For Defenders

(Tuesday, November 26; Sioux Center, Iowa) Sheryl Mae Rowe, a senior at Albia High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender cross country and track and field programs.
Rowe has twice qualified for the Iowa High School State Cross Country Meet while competing for Albia and has a personal best of 20:44 on a 5,000 meter cross country course. Her personal bests in the 3,000 and 1,500 are 11:43 and 5:27.
"I am excited to have Sherryl Mae join our program. She is a great fit for Dordt University and our distance program. She is an outstanding student and loves to run. I am excited to work with her and see her impact on our program over the next four years," said Dordt cross country coach Nate Wolf.
Rowe is a four year all-conference honoree and also earned Academic All-State honors along with Academic All-Conference notice three times.
Sheryl Mae is the daughter of Alan and Amie Rowe of Albia, Iowa. She plans to study Computer Science at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian university rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
