Dordt will travel to Colorado to face the Air Force Academy and the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs on Thursday and Friday, November 7 and 8. 

The Foe…

Air Force is 6-1 this season and have outscored opponents 34-7.  Ryyan Reyle has a team high eight goals and Nicholas Hastings has six goals. Douglas Gutierrez, Jed Cutter and Shane Kelly all have six assists this season. Mark Anarumo has played 338 minutes in goal and has two shutouts and has allowed seven goals for a 1.24 goals allowed average.

The Aire Force lost to the University of South Florida on October 27 by a 2-1 count and that’s the only blemish on the Air Force’s record.

Colorado Springs is 8-1-1 this year and has outscored teams 83-40. Jake Olson has 22 goals and 20 assists and Ryan Worley has 20 goals and 27 assists. Chris Liang has 19 goals and Simon Kurtz has accounted for 13 assists. Rick Haenke and Jacksen Appelquist have played 300 and 305 minutes in goal respectively and Haenke has 21 goals allowed and Appelquist 19.

The only loss for Colorado Springs is to Air Force on November 1 in a 5-0 decision.

The Defenders…

The Defenders are 3-3 this season and have been outscored 27-24.  The Defenders were able to even their record at 3-3 with a pair of wins over Kansas this weekend by 7-4 and 8-6 counts.  Eli Visscher has a team high five goals and four assists and Jaren Brue has two goals and six assists. Logan Visser has four goals and three assists and Sam De Jong also ahs three goals. Bryce Andry and David Burns have each played 180 minutes in goal with Andry making 118 saves and Burns 127.  Burns has allowed 5.0 goals per contest and Andry 4.0.

The Series…

Colorado Springs won a wild decision last year 10-7 and the Air Force took a 10-0 win in games played on November 1 and 2. In the loss to Colorado Springs Mark Schouten had three goals and Spencer Van Ravenswaay had two assists. In the Air Force contest the Defenders were limited to 13 shots while the Falcons had 73 shots on goal.

What’s Next…

The Defenders will travel to Missouri State on November 15 and 16 before returning home hon Friday, November 22.
