Men's Cross Country 16th In National Poll

(Friday, October 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) The latest edition of the 2019 NAIA Men’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Poll was released on Thursday, October 17 and the Dordt Defender men are 16th in the poll.

The Defenders took 290 points in the voting done by 21 coaches representing each of the conferences in the NAIA.   Dordt was two points in front of Goshen (Indiana) and 34 points behind Doane in 15th.

The Defenders finished second at the Dordt Holiday Inn Express Invite they hosted on Saturday, October 12. Dordt earned 50 points and Doane won it with 43 points.

“The men ran incredibly well this past week.  It was good to see them maintain a rank in the top-20.  They are positioned well for the end of the season and I anticipate them running stronger and stronger over the next few weeks,” said coach Nate Wolf.

The next NAIA Coaches’ Poll will be October 31.

Dordt will run next in the NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede on October 26 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. That meet will be the final race for Dordt prior to the GPAC Championship on November 9.
