18 Dordt Teams Named NAIA Scholar-Teams

(Tuesday, July 16; Sioux Center, Iowa)  The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 1,883 teams that have earned the distinction for Scholar-Teams for the 2018-19 academic year.  Dordt had all 18 of its varsity teams earn the honor—the first time in school history all teams have hit this mark.  To be eligible for the honor teams must maintain a cumulative 3.0 grade point average during the academic year.

For the second year in a row the Dordt University women’s basketball team has the highest grade point average in NAIA Division II women’s basketball with a 3.82 gpa.  The football team earns the honor for the first time in school history with a 3.23 gpa which is tops among NAIA football teams.  The men’s volleyball team also claims the top gpa in the nation with a 3.56.
