Hansen To Join Defender Softball

(Tuesday, June 11; Sioux Center, Iowa) Addison Hansen, a recent graduate of Jenison High School (Michigan), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender softball program.
Hansen has a .467 batting average with an on base percentage of .529. She earned all-conference honors in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and was an all-district pick in 2019 along with academic all-state accolades. Jenison won three conference titles the last three seasons and were district champions in 2018 and 2019.
“We are excited to welcome Addison Hansen to the Dordt University Softball Program! Addison has had a wonderful high school and travel ball career and we are excited to have her bring her skill set to Dordt! She will bring a strong relationship with the Lord and a strong work ethic with her to Dordt University. Addison plans to enter the medical field and will be prepared well during her time at Dordt," said Dordt softball coach Jeff Zomer.
Addison is the daughter of Bob and Khristy Hansen of Jenison, Michigan. She plans to enter the pre-Dental program at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian university rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
