Bakker To Join Defender Soccer

(Wednesday, May 29; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Luke Bakker, a recent graduate of Edmonton Christian High School (Alberta), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender soccer program.

Bakker helped Edmonton Christian to a third place finish in the Metro Edmonton High School Athletics Division 2.  He scored 11 goals in 2018-19.  He was a Glenora U17 2nd place provincial medalist during the 2017 indoor season and also compete for the Force United.

Luke is the son of Shawn and Janneke Bakker of Edmonton, Alberta.  He plans to study Plant Science and Business at Dordt.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian university rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). 

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
