Kreykes To Join Defenders

(Thursday, May 2; Sioux Center, Iowa). Gabrielle Kreykes, a student at St. Xavier University (Illinois), has announced her intention to transfer to Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.
Kreykes is a 5-10 guard from St. John, Indiana where she attended and graduated from Illiana Christian High School. She averaged 15.6 points per game for Saint Xavier with 5.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 2.0 steals per game. She converted 33 percent of her three-point shots and 45 percent of her field goals as she helped St. Xavier to a 21-10 record. Kreykes earned Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference second-team honors and also was named conference player of the week once during the 2018-19 season. Kreykes scored 23.7 points per game and 6.4 rebounds per game as a high school senior with 4.3 steals. She scored 2,249 points in high school and was named second-team all-state by the Illinois Basketball Coaches and the Associated Press.

Gabrielle is the daughter of Ken and Rochelle Kreykes of St. John, Indiana.
Dordt is in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
