Baseball Signs De Jong

(Friday, April 19; Sioux Center, Iowa) Colton De Jong, a senior at Illiana Christian High School (Indiana), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender baseball program.
De Jong has played outfield, third base, shortstop and pitcher during his career and was a part of a Regional Champion team in 2018 and a Sectional runner-up team. De Jong also played for the NWI Rippers and CP Dogs travel teams.
"We are excited to add Colton to our baseball program. His versatility and strong hitting will be immediate assets for us," said Dordt baseball coach Jeff Schouten.
Colton is the son of Michael and Angela De Jong of Crown Point, Indiana. He plans to study Business and Accounting at Dordt.
Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
