Track and Cross Country Get Brouwer Commitment

(Tuesday, February 12; Sioux Center, Iowa) Jacob Brouwer, a senior at Thompson Valley High School (Colorado), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender track and cross country programs.
Brouwer has a personal best of 17:17 on a 5,000 meter cross country course. He has times of 10:28 and 4:59 as personal bests in the one mile and two mile.
"Jacob is a great addition to our men’s team. He is a fantastic athlete that fell in love with distance running partway through his high school career. He is passionate about his running, his studies, and his faith. I look forward to his contribution to our program and Dordt over the next four years," said Dordt cross country coach Nate Wolf.
Jacob is the son of Mike and Maria Brouwer of Loveland, Colorado. He plans to study Engineering at Dordt.
Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
