Wilgenburg To Attend Dordt

(Tuesday, February 5; Sioux Center, Iowa) Braden Wilgenburg, a senior at Washington Christian Academy (Maryland), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender soccer program.
Wilgenburg scored nine goals as a senior with eight assists and totaled 13 goals and six assists as a junior. He served as team captain in both his junior and senior years and was voted co-MVP by his team. Wilgenburg was voted first-team Maryland Christian Schools Tournament (MCST) in both 2017 and 2018 and was a second team all Potomac Valley Athletic Conference (PVAC) in 2017.
"We are pleased to have Braden joining men’s soccer here at Dordt. Refined by high-level play on the East Coast, we anticipate that he will contribute skill, touch, and tenacity to the team. He continues in the footsteps of his father Brian who also played for Dordt," said Dordt soccer coach Ryan Gresse.
Wilgenburg was on a pair of MCST state title winning teams in 2017 and 2018 and PVAC champion teams in 2015 and 2016. He's listed as a 6-0, 160 pound midfielder and forward.
Braden is the son of Brian and Michelle Wilgenburg of Rockville, Maryland.
Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
