Dordt’s Forensics Team Participates in Icebox Classic Tournament

The Dordt College Forensics Team participated in the annual Icebox Classic tournament this past weekend on February 1-2 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Dordt’s team consisting of Daniel Schreur and Tony Zou, received third place. Schreur received fourth place as best overall speaker in the debate category.

Other awards at the tournament included Jaclyn Vander Waal receiving fifth place in the Prose Interpretation category, and Kevin Coleman receiving sixth place in Impromptu Speaking.

The tournament features both parliamentary debate as well as 12 other speaking events including “impromptu speaking” and “prose interpretation.”

Dordt competed against other teams from schools such as the University of Minnesota, the University of South Dakota, and the University of North Dakota.

The tournament was held at St. Cloud State University and has been held for over 40 years.
