Kraemer Commits To Dordt

(Friday, December, 21; Sioux Center, Iowa) Abby Kraemer, a senior at Alta-Aurelia High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender softball program.
Kraemer was 23-4 on the mound last season with 363 strikeouts in 167 innings of work and teams batted .129 against her. At the plate she batted .382 last season with 28 runs batted in. In 2017 Kraemer was 27-3 on the mound with 381 strikeouts in 184 innings and she had a 1.18 earned run average with teams batting .128 against her. She batted .453 with six doubles, five homeruns and 38 runs batted in during the 2017 season. She has 1,126 career strikeouts with a career 78-17 pitching record.
Kraemer claimed first-team all-conference and all-district honors three times each and claimed first-team all-state honors in 2017 and 2018 after earning second-team honors in 2016. She's been a part of the Storm Lake Pilot Tribune All-Area Team three times and was twice named its player of the year in 2017 and 2018. Alta-Aurelia has won the conference title the last two years and was a state tournament qualifier in 2018.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
