Men's Cross Country No. 21 In Poll

(Thursday; October 4; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender men’s cross country team is no. 21 the NAIA Men’s Cross Country Coaches’ Poll released on Wednesday, October 3.

The Defenders were no. 19 in the poll released two weeks ago and had 217 points in the poll. Dordt was four points out of 20th and one point in front of The Master’s at no. 22.

“Going into the last four weeks before conference, it is great for the men’s team to continue being recognized in the top 25.  This team has run well the first two meets of the season, winning both races, and we look to hopefully continue that momentum this week at the Briar Cliff Invite.  Our main at this point in the season, with such a young squad, is to focus on continuing to train well, stay healthy, and prepare for the conference meet on November 3,” said Dordt College coach Nate Wolf.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of 21 head coaches representing each of the conferences in the NAIA. The next poll will be released Wednesday, October 17.

Oklahoma City and Southern Oregon continue as the no. 1 and no. 2 teams in the country respectively.

The Defenders next action will be Saturday, October 6 at the Briar Cliff Invite at McCook Lake, South Dakota.  Dordt also runs at the Mount Marty Invite on Saturday, October 20.
