Dordt College Associate Provost Dr. Leah Zuidema has been selected for a 2018–19 Fulbright U.S. Scholar grant for the International Education Administrators (IAE) seminar. The grant will allow Zuidema to spend two weeks in France where she will participate in activities including briefings with government officials, faculty, administrators, and leading educational experts at public and private institutions.
"Dr. Zuidema’s selection as a Fulbright scholar recognizes her longtime scholarly excellence in writing, which is having a national and international impact,” says Dr. Nathan Tintle, professor of statistics. “Her selection serves as an important example of the numerous globally impactful faculty and administrators we currently have here at Dordt.”
The trip will give Zuidema an opportunity to learn about higher education in Europe in addition to networking with other college and university leaders from the United States.
"I love thinking about thinking, and especially learning about innovative ways to educate students,” says Zuidema. “I’m thrilled for the opportunity to learn both from our French hosts and from leading educators from the United States. At a deeper level, I am excited to follow God’s calling in this experience, and to see how he uses this in my life as well as to enable new possibilities for Dordt students and faculty.”
