Van Wingerden Senior Art Show April 19-29

Lydia Van Wingerden Presents “the littles” Collection

Lydia Van Wingerden’s collection of 200 watercolor paintings will be displayed in her senior art show, open to the public from April 19-29.  The show will be held in the art gallery in the Dordt College Campus Center and will include a closing reception on Friday, April 27 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.  Each painting is between one to two inches in size, and all paintings will be available for sale.

“There is no cohesive theme in the series, but that is the beauty of it.  Each one has something different to tell about itself, myself, and yourself,” says Van Wingerden.

The show will also feature Van Wingerden’s collection of ceramic cups from a project titled “The Absence of Memory.”  The ceramics will be available for trade.

This show stemmed from a consideration of individuals' roles in the meta-narrative and from personal preparation for service in South Sudan.

“We are little and insignificant in the grand scheme of things, yet we each do our part.  Each little thing is unique and beautiful.”

All sales will go toward funding Lydia's work in South Sudan.
