Faculty Art on Display at Dordt College

Exhibit features faculty artists Versluis, Drissell, Burg, and Van Wyk

Sioux Center, Iowa:  An exhibit of artwork, produced by faculty members of the Dordt College Department of Art and Design, is currently on display in the Campus Center gallery. It will remain there until October 29.

On Monday, October 23, a public reception will be held from 7 till 8:15 pm in the gallery. The contributing artists will discuss their work and answer questions from the audience.

Featured artists include:

  • David Versluis, professor of art, with selected pieces from a series of poly-chrome sculptures that were made possible through a faculty development grant,
  • Matt Drissell, associate professor of art, with a series of walnut-stained drawings on paper which envision “perceiving our place and space,”
  • Doug Burg, professional photographer and adjunct faculty member, with a display of recent work in color and special effects, and
  • Jacob Van Wyk, emeritus faculty and adjunct faculty member, with free standing clay sculptures in porcelain and stoneware, pottery, oil pastel drawings, and multi-color lithography.
