(Friday, June 16; Sioux Center, Iowa) Bailey Braaksma, a graduate of Central Wisconsin Christian and a student at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender volleyball program.
Braaksma is a 5-11 outside hitter and middle blocker, had 194 kills in 2015 with 107 digs and 35 blocks. She had a total of 428 kills during her career and 72 blocks. She claimed honorable mention all-conference honors and served as team captain.
“Bailey will be a good outside hitter for us and add depth to that position. She not only excelled as a hitter at Central Wisconsin Christian High School for coach Dan Ten Napel, she also was a strong blocker and produced points in that category as well,” said Dordt College coach Chad Hanson. “We anticipate several great seasons ahead for Bailey as she enters our campus and Christian community this fall.”
Bailey is the daughter of Jeff and Kris Braaksma of Randolph, Wisconsin. She plans to study Enviromental Science at Dordt College.
Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).
