Minderhoud To Join Defender Track and Field

(Friday, June 9; Sioux Center, Iowa) Janessa Minderhoud, a student at Abbotsford Christian School, has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender track and field program.

Minderhoud is a pole vaulter and placed third at the 2015 British Columbia Provincials and was fifth in 2016 at the same event.  She claimed the Fraser Valley Championship in 2017 in the pole vault as well and helped her team to a team title in the event in 2016. 

Janessa is the daughter of Phil and Janita of Abbotsford, British Columbia.  She plans to study Nursing at Dordt College.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). 

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
