Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Vanguard University

(Costa Mesa, CA) Dordt's men dropped a tough game tonight in Costa Mesa, California, to Vanguard University 65-58. The Dordt men had a 20-5 run to open the second half and with 15 minutes left in the game led by 13, 44-31. The Defenders did not score a point over the last six minutes and went from being up 58-50, to losing by the final of 65-58. The Lions outscored Dordt 13-0 in the final six minutes of the game. Kemmy Burgess led the Vanguard men with 21 points, hitting on three second half three-pointers. Burgess had nine rebounds to pace the Lions. Dordt was led by Neal Brenneman's 15 points, while Eric Maas pulled in eight caroms. Dordt lost their third game of season, and their second in a row. The Defenders are now 9-3 for the season. The Vanguard men improve to .500 for the season, at 5-5.
