CONCEPT THAT BLEW MY MIND

I grew up reading the Bible, but freshman year I learned how covenant theology weaves throughout the entire Bible. The idea that the covenants formed the entire storyline of God's story blew my mind, and I have loved learning more about my role in God's story in my time at Dordt.

COOL THINGS I DID AT DORDT

Spring breaks have been my favorite! I went to Grand Junction, Colorado, and Houston with PLIA, a spring break service opportunity. I also got to go on a band and orchestra tour to the Pacific Northwest. I have no regrets in joining the cross country team at Dordt. I was blessed to be the coordinator for WOW; that was quite the undertaking!

OBSTACLES I’VE OVERCOME

I entered Dordt with one major, switched to another, and finally landed on business. In the time of transition, I did not know what I wanted to do after graduation. Even this year I was unsure what doors would open within the major I landed on. Through the unknown, I have been able to cling closer to Christ as he has guided me on my path through college into the next stage of life.

WHO I WAS WHEN I CAME TO DORDT

When I came to Dordt I was excited for the newness of college life, but I was also really nervous for all the changes ahead. Throughout my freshman year I was able to learn many things about Dordt, others, and myself. I have continued to learn and grow into who I am today.

HOW DORDT IMPACTED ME

My time at Dordt has helped mold me into who I am today. Yes, I have learned lots in the classroom, but I think I have almost learned more from the people I have developed relationships with during my time here. It has been very encouraging to have many people walk alongside me as I grow in my relationship with Christ and continue to learn more about him through classes and worship opportunities on campus.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR ME

I will be the social media and marketing specialist at Capstone Physical Therapy in Lynden, Washington.

WHAT I WOULD TELL PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

Come to Dordt and be enveloped in the Christ-centered community. I know everyone says it, but it is truly the best thing about Dordt. All the staff and faculty work together, wanting students to succeed but grow closer to Christ along the way. Be yourself as you come, but put yourself out there to meet new people. And don't be afraid to ask for help!

HOW DORDT HELPED ME DO MORE

In my time at Dordt I have grown into who I am today. I have been able to take part in many different opportunities on campus during my time here. Additionally, though, I have been able to recognize some areas that God is using me, and I am excited to walk with him along that path.
