COOL THINGS I DID AT DORDT
The coolest thing I did at Dordt would be traveling to the Netherlands for choir tour. I will never forget the people I met, the places I have been, and friendships I made with other choir members. I also performed at TX with a group of friends, which was so much fun!
WHO I WAS WHEN I CAME TO DORDT
I was someone who thought I had everything figured out, but in reality I knew nothing. I graduated with a major I did not start with. I developed friendships with a variety of people, and I became more involved with events on campus and more willing to break out of my comfort zone. I came to Dordt with my own ideas in mind, but God certainly had something better planned.
HOW DORDT IMPACTED ME
Dordt was not just a school, but a family. I was challenged in all my classes to be a better student and to apply Christian values to what I was learning. I would not be who I am today without the friendships I have made through Dordt, with professors and other students. My faith would not be what it is today without Dordt’s chapels and other worship services. I learned so much about being a disciple of Christ and how to live that out in all aspects of my life. And the community surrounding Dordt is filled with people who genuinely care about you and create a welcoming environment in any church that you visit. The town lights up when Dordt students are around.
WHERE I AM NOW
Today, I am the Recruitment Coordinator at Rosenboom in Sheldon, Iowa. I work in the HR and marketing departments. I am beyond blessed to be where I am today.
WHAT I WOULD TELL PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
If you are looking for a college that will truly invest in you, then Dordt is the place for you. When you walk on campus for your first day, you are faced with many unknowns. But there is so much comfort in knowing that you are surrounded by professors, students, and a community that will walk alongside you and build you up.
