Scholarship and Grant opportunities

Opportunity Grant

Dordt University aspires to enrich the learning environment for all student by fostering the leadership potential of Christ-centered, undergraduate degree-seeking students from historically underrepresented groups.

Opportunity Grant fund amounts will vary based on circumstance; recipients are eligible for a maximum of $12,500/year for a total of four years. Competing students should apply for admission to Dordt prior to December 15 for consideration; recipients will be notified during financial aid season. U.S. citizenship is not required.

Huisman minority scholarship

Students who demonstrate leadership qualities and are from a minority race as defined by the CRCNA Synodical Committee on Race Relations are eligible for this scholarship. References should address the applicant's leadership qualities and potential in their chosen field of study.

Kielstra Scholarship

Hessel and Alice Kielstra have established this scholarship fund. To be considered for this scholarship, students must be accepted by Dordt University as full-time students in good academic standing. The recipients must be of Hispanic descent and exhibit outstanding Christian character. Financial need can be taken into consideration in the recipient selection process.

Jansen/Arkema Scholarship

Funded by Milo and Jentine Arkema, this scholarship aims to provide support to a student who exhibits financial need and sincerely desires a Dordt University education.  Priority will be given to a minority student or a student from an urban area.
